Six Mile Charter Academy students have a passion for learning science. Science has so many awesome things that can be learned through hands-on experiences. Students in Kelly Brandt’s 3rd grade class learned about long strands of molecules called polymers. The elasticity of these polymer chains causes rubber to stretch. They were able to put wooden skewers through the balloons and the balloons did not pop! Those long strands of molecules stretched around the skewer and kept the air inside of the balloon. The students were completely amazed with the results.
