Information Sessions

Eighth Grade Parents and Students

Come meet the faculty and staff of Gateway Charter High School on January 31, 2008 at 6:00pm for an Enrollment Information Session. Tour the school, see the classrooms, and get your questions answered.

New Parent Information Session

Please join us on any of the following days for an Enrollment Information Session. Topics will include the enrollment process, required documentation, curriculum overview and general information about our school. Please contact the school at any time for a tour.

Sessions are scheduled for 6:00pm on the following days:
January 31st
February 14th & 28th,
March 13th & 27th,
April 10th & 24th,
May 8th & 22nd,
June 5th & 19th,
July 10 & 24th

Enrollment

Enrollment for the 2008-2009 school year is open. In the initial "Open Enrollment" period all applicants have an equal opportunity for admission regardless of submitting an application on the first day or the last day of "Open Enrollment". The Open Enrollment period is January 1 – February 29, 2008. Applications will be accepted in all grade levels. If the number of applications exceeds the number of available spaces for any grade level, a system generated, random lottery will be held to determine who is admitted.

After February 29th, applications will continue to be accepted and admission will be offered based on the order in which the application is received. If a lottery is required and your application was not submitted within the Open Enrollment window, your application will be positioned on the waitlist in the order in which it is received.

Families will be notified within 14 days of the close of the Open Enrollment period if their student has been accepted or if a lottery will be held. Families who are sent an acceptance letter will be given a specific time frame to respond. If the school does not receive a response during the time frame outlined, the applicant will be removed from the accepted list and placed on the waitlist.

Lottery Process

The lottery is a system generated random lottery. The date the lottery is processed will be announced.

In the event that the number of applications for any grade exceeds the number of available spaces a random lottery will be held. Each student who applies during the initial enrollment period has an equal chance of being selected in the lottery. Preference will be given to siblings of currently enrolled students and employees of Charter Schools USA. Families will be notified of the lottery date and results will be posted.

Registration

Prior to the start of school families will be provided with a registration package and instructions for each child accepted.
